Re: floorboard depth if you can't find an existing hole to measure the thickness of the subfloor you could drill a small hole in a corner or some out of the way place to get your measurement. remember the thickness of the subfloor isn't the only thing to be concerned with - you also need to know the joists size and span.. Would appreciate some advice on this one: i need to replace some floorboards in my house (1930's) the existing tongue and groove floorboards don't seem to be the same size (width) as ones currently available at wickes, b&q etc. but are the same thickness (18mm approx)..
